Kate is leaving!

One of the inaugural Evil Ninja Pirates is leaving us for bigger and better parties. Kate will be heading overseas to Spain to work and travel, and of course party! Sunday just gone was (one of) her going away parties, and it was held at ENP headquarters, The Room. Much pizza was eaten, much alcohol was drunk, and much Wii was played. But most importantly there was Beer Pong.

ENPPL Gaining Momentum

The first ENPPL event was held last night and was no doubt a success. People from all over Adelaide turned out to participate and others who came to watch were not disappointed.

As this was only a lead up tournament, people were having a bit of a laugh and it wasn’t too serious to begin with, but as the hands progressed, so did the seriousness. Dave-O was first out and became dealer, even though he wasn’t very good at it, but he tried and that’s what mattered. Scotty was down to his last $100 of chips before hitting a lucky streak and winning 5 hands in a row, going all-in each time to become chip leader. Unluckily he too bowed out along with other which left Kate and Teddy to fight it out at the end, eventually with Teddy prevailing. Kate was the big surprise though, making the final two, with everyone expecting her to go out first.

A few new faces for the second game with the stakes rising, it was bound to be a good one. Chris started went out hard, possibly due to the half bottle of Canadian Club he had drunk, and unfotunately, it didn’t pay off for him, being the first to leave the table. The games continued on, before everyone once again being surprised, this time with Monica making it to the final two, along with Mark. Mark “I don’t even know what I have got but still win” Wolstencroft also surprising the crowd by not only making the final two, but actually winning it all!

The night was a glimpse of what is to come from the new Evil Ninja Pirates Poker League, which is no doubt only going to get bigger and stronger. With regular fixtures set to be planned, and big name players, people are eagerly waiting to play.

The official launch is supposed to be happening in the coming weeks, is just being held up by some scheduling issues at the moment. Once these are sorted though, the ENPPL is set to take off. Stay tuned for more details.

Lead Up Poker Tournament

In a lead up to what is being billed as the hottest new poker tournament in the world, the ENPPL would like to present the Lead Up Tournament, before the first Evil Ninja Pirates Poker Tournament takes place.

The Lead Up Tournament is set to take place on the 27th of September 2008 at the ENP Headquarters. While not as prestigious as the First Invitational is going to be, the lead up event will still feature some big name players, who no doubt will keep their reputations in tact and not let this slip away. Even if it is only a lead up event.

Buy In’s will be set at $5 a round to begin with, and hopefully, time willing, at least three rounds will be played through. Standard rules apply with other details to be provided on the night.

Unfortunately, the bartender will be interstate during this tournament so refreshments will need to be fetched by the players themselves, or possibly spectators if you can convince them. Refreshments will be the house special, which is BYO.

For any further details, send an email to enppl@evilninjapirates.com.

New Poker League Set To Take Over

The first Evil Ninja Pirates Invitational Poker Tournament is sure to become one of the most prestigious events the poker world has ever seen. In a league of its own, The Evil Ninja Pirates Poker League, or ENPPL, it will be the basis of big things to come for all involved.

The tournament will be by invitation only, with only 20 invitations to go out to some of the best and most highly regarded poker players the event organisers know. While it is unknown exactly who these invitations will go to, rumours have been leaked that one will be going to big time player James “Teddy” Tedmanson, while another will be going to the one and only Jason Nair, aka Snowflake. With big names like these the tournament will be bound for big things and no doubt will be highly talked about amongst the poker community.

The event is set to be held on the 27th of September, 2008, at the official headquarters of The Evil Ninja Pirates Organisation, The Room. Players will begin to arrive after 6.30pm, for sign in, a bit to eat, and no doubt interviews with the press and signing of autographs for the fans. The tournament will then begin at 7.30pm and go on late into the night.

Another rumour that has surfaced is that famous bartender and recently unemployed, Belinda Wolstencroft will be making an appearance behind the bar to serve the guests up with drinks and random heckling. Both should not be missed.

Do YOU Love Sounds?

Because we LOVE sounds… And the sounds of music. So join us for the We Love Sounds festival this June long weekend. To be held at the Shores Complex and featuring such artists as Dubfire of Deep Dish, Cassius, Hybrid, Utah Saints, Derrick Carter, Steve Lawler and Black Grass.

We Love Sounds

So join the posse for another day to remember and forget all at the same time, because no doubt it will be better than the last time and not as good as the next time.

SUPER FUN HAPPY SLIDE!!!

Scotty Doesn’t Know… That It’s His Birthday

Ok, so he really does know, but that’s not the point. (Or the paint if you ask Chandy). So we are going to go out on the Friday night, somewhere, and have some drinks, venue still to be decided. Will keep everyone posted. Maybe we will start at The Room for some pizza, yeah, we’ll do that, that sounds good.

Australia Day Weekend

Australia Day long weekend is coming up and not only that but it’s my birthday! So a BBQ is on the cards for the Saturday while listening to the Triple J Hottest 100 and watching the cricket. Drinking beer will also be involved. Lots of beer.

Still unsure of where we will do this, maybe a park somewhere. Or who knows, but Dung has the whole day off, on a Saturday, so we have to do something fun and make it worthwhile and celebrate her citizenship! As well as Australia, as well as my birthday.

Schutzenfest

Yes people, it’s time again for Schutzenfest, the German drinking, errr, shooting festival. A whole weekend of drinking German beer and eating German food. We’ll probably be heading in on the Saturday to make a day of it (and possibly a night too), so make sure you’re there. The weather’s looking pretty good for it so far, and if previous years are anything to go by then it should be a great day.

UPDATE: Meet at The Room from 11am, probably leave here around 12ish and somehow find out way in there. Right now we’re thinking some kind of bus, or maybe limo.

New Years Eve @ HQ

We’re going to HQ for New Years! If anyone else wants to come i think there’s still tickets available. So far me, Scott and Kate are going. Night will start of as usual at The Room, then into HQ to see in the new year. Hope to see you there.

Future Music Festival ‘08

The Future Music Festival is coming back to Adelaide and is going to be great. From what I heard last year was great and was a shame I missed it, but that won’t be the case this year. Tickets are on sale now and are about $90. It is on March the 10th and is going to feature John Digweed (UK), Roger Sanchez (USA), Sven Vath (Germany), Who Made Who (Denmark), The Shapeshifters (UK), Eddie Halliwell (UK), Diplo (USA), Markus Schulz (US), DJ Yoda (UK), The Black Ghosts, Elite Force (UK), Laidback Luke, DIM (Germany), James Holroyd, Kid Koala, Chicks On Speed (Germany), Datarock (Norway).

We will make another full day of it and have an absolute blast as always, ‘cos that’s how we roll! Get excited, Big Kev style. Rarrrrrrrr!
